Participant of the Month for May 2008

Beth was referred by DORS without funding to participate in our JDPR Program. She had worked part time at a local restaurant for 14 years and was laid off when her position was eliminated. Before coming to Goodwill, Beth had applied for many jobs on her own but was unable to find employment.

Beth, who is married and has one child, is hard working and very dependable. Shortly after entering Goodwill's JDPR program, she took a part time position through our Contracts Department cleaning the Keys Stadium after games. This is a difficult job with odd hours, yet Beth always arrives ready to work as hard as she physically can to get the job done. She also works as needed on other contract jobs, filling in when others are not available. Beth has never refused an opportunity to work and has proven to us that no task is too large or small for her. She has never missed work and is always a phone call away. As Beth would say, "Hard work is her middle name!" Beth truly is the perfect example of a hard worker and a dedicated employee.
