Achiever of the Month for January 2008

RachelRachel began with Maryland's Developmental Disabilities Administration Vocational program in October 2007. When she started, she wouldn’t even look at anyone, but she has really opened up recently and now talks to everyone.

She works in Goodwill®'s Buckeystown Pike/Route 85 retail store hanging clothes out on the floor. She also enrolled in January in Maryland's Adult Basic Education (ABE) computer class to improve her reading and computer skills. In addition, she started a custodial job at the USDA office building in February.

Goodwill® staff expects Rachel's skills will continue to grow and that she will eventually move into a job in the community. Rachel loves using her discount to shop at Goodwill® stores.
