COMPUTER TRAINING

Learn how to use basic Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word (basic and advanced) and Excel as you improve your job skills for employment/better employment. We also offer an “Introduction to the Computer” for those individuals unfamiliar with basic computer usage.

Classes are offered in 3 different formats to meet the learning needs and schedules of participants:

Instructor-driven Classes

Scheduled during the week, daytime and early evening; classes available at Goodwill® and elsewhere by special arrangements. At present, these classes are offered on Monday and Friday mornings, 10:00 a.m. - noon and Tuesday evenings - 6:00-8:00 p.m. - all at our Frederick Church Street location. In Westminster, we offer the same courses on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons at our computer lab in Carroll County.

Self-paced Classes

Tutorials are also available to meet the needs of those who may not be able to attend classroom instruction – contact the Training Manager for additional information.

Online Classes

As students progress through our basic curriculum, instructors can recommend additional trainings that are available online.

This Goodwill® program also partners with other non profit organizations and with employers engaged in similar work-readiness missions throughout the Frederick and Carroll County areas to offer customized trainings onsite at workplaces, other training centers and computer laboratories.

For more information or to register call Amos Watson, at (301) 662-0622, ext. 236 or email awatson@gimv.org . Please be aware that scholarships may be available for those who meet eligibility requirements.
