Lexie's Story

In 2006, Lexie came to Goodwill after losing her job. She has a learning disability that created a barrier to employment, but Lexie wanted to work. She attended Goodwill's programs everyday, used the Goodwill computer lab, and pursued every job lead. With Goodwill's help, and through her own determination, Lexie landed a job at Weis Market as a part-time cashier.

But Lexie's story didn't end there; she recently enrolled at Frederick Community College to pursue an even greater future. Lexie says, "Goodwill staff always found a way to keep my hope and dreams alive." Goodwill awarded Lexie the Graduate of the Year award for 2006.
