Jeremy's Story

Jeremy has been with Goodwill since 1996 doing a variety of jobs, such as sorting goods, pricing, working on the dock, etc.; but working at the Church Street store was not going well for him. In May 2006, Jeremy was assigned to the Goodwill store on Route 85, where there were job coaches to work with him and several other employees with developmental disabilities. His work skills and attitude improved dramatically as a result.

Because of his tremendous improvement, Jeremy was presented Goodwill's Achiever of the Year Award for 2006. He speaks well of Goodwill's job coaches: "Goodwill has helped me a lot and the job coaches have been very nice to me."

Jeremy also volunteers at Frederick Memorial Hospital and has a part-time job at Food Lion bagging groceries and performing maintenance duties.
