Get Receipts for Your Donations
Your donations make Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley work, and we can’t thank you enough for supporting our mission.
Don’t forget to get a receipt for your donation. Receipts confirm GIMV as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You can obtain a receipt regardless of where or how you donate to GIMV by clicking on “Print a Donation Receipt” below.
Retain your receipt for your tax records, especially if you itemize your deductions when you complete your federal tax forms. Donations to GIMV qualify as charitable donations, making them tax-deductible — though clothing and household items must be in “good used condition or better” to qualify.
Attended Donation Centers
When you drop off items to any GIMV attended donation center located throughout Carroll County and Frederick County in Maryland during operating hours, ask the attendant for a receipt. Please note that we cannot accept donation drop-offs outside of posted hours.
Free-Standing Donation Drop-off Bins
We have dozens of 24-hour drop-off bins to accommodate your smaller donations. Use the form below to request a receipt for your donation at a bin.
Donation Drive or Home Pick-Up Service
If you donated as part of a campaign at your place of employment or other organization or if you and your neighbors arranged for GIMV to pick up a large quantity of items, complete and submit the form below. Our staff will email you a receipt.
Tax Deductions
To claim a tax deduction, you as the donor must determine the fair market value of your contributions. By law, GIMV cannot assign a value to the items you donate for tax-deduction purposes. Visit the IRS website for more information, and please consult your tax advisor for guidance relative to your situation.
