Goodwill is excited to announce the grand re-opening of its newly remodeled Westminster Retail Store and Donation Center located at 200 Baltimore Blvd off MD Route 140. The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, August 31st with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00am. During the ceremony local officials, community leaders, and Goodwill representatives will open the newly remodeled store to the community. The doors will open for shoppers at approximately 9:15.
Grand opening festivities will continue through Sunday, September 2nd. Shoppers have the opportunity to register to win a grand prize and take advantage of thousands of bargains throughout the store. In addition, Goodwill is kicking off the event by giving away prizes every two hours starting Friday morning until the grand prize is draw Sunday evening. There will be free refreshments and lots of kid-friendly activities. Families are encouraged to bring their children to enjoy special events daily from 12 to 3pm, including a Costumed Face Painter on Friday, a Moon Bounce on Saturday, and a Magician on Sunday.
The newly remodeled store will offer the community over 14,000 square feet of open retail space to shop for high quality, low cost clothes, books, knick-knacks/household items and furniture for the entire family. “The newly remodeled store will allow Goodwill to more efficiently accept donations and better present merchandise in our retail store” stated Dan Kurtenbach President and CEO of Goodwill. “This location will also function as a distribution center for all Carroll County stores, which also allows the collection of donated goods to stay in Carroll County”. Stated Kurtenbach. The Retail Store and Donation Center will also offer a new drive-thru donation center to further simplify the donation process.
